Yes, diatomaceous land or is generally safe for kittens, as well as for other animals. It can be used directly on the kitten when it comes to fleas. Make sure the product is the type of power supply and not the degree of filter. Diatomach Land: Benefits and Uses Diatomach or DE Earth is a very fine white powder that comes from fossil remains of tiny and aquatic organisms called diatoms. The skeletons of the diatomans are composed of silica and these fossils in the rivers, oceans and sediments of the lake over the years. The resulting sedimentary deposits that are mined are what we now know as a diatomaceous land. The type of food grade DE is considered safe for human and animal consumption because it is 85 to 95%morphic silica and only contains 0.5 to 2% crystal silica. The degree of DE filter is not edible but has many industrial uses. It contains 60% crystalline silica that makes it toxic to animals and humans. Benefits and Uses of the Diatomach Land These are the benefits and uses of DE for kittens and cats:1. Prevent and remove parasites. The diatomaceous land can be used as organic dewormer for kittens and cats. It can be used to remove bouquets, round slices, pinworms and pencils that infest your feline. Use 1⁄4 teaspoon of DE for kittens while for adult cats, a spoonful of tea will make, which should be given at least two months. As soon as you've started getting rid of DE, don't take any rest as the infestation of dead dying worms emits toxins that can be toxic to your pets.2. Remove and avoid ticks and fleas. DE is an effective product of control of fleas and ticks for kittens and cats. It can be used directly in kittens and there are no adverse side effects if your kitten swallows it. DE works dehydrating fleas through his exoskeleton, killing fleas within 24 hours. Be careful when applying DE to your kittens and be sure to keep it away from your mouth, eyes and nose. If your kittens have open sores or wounds, make sure you do not apply DE on it. Shampoo kittens within 12 hours and once they are dry, comb your coats well to get rid of the dead bugs and eggs. Repeat the process for at least two weeks to complete the fleas treatment. DE can also be sprayed in bed linen, furniture, carpets and other elements where fleas usually thrive. Empty the areas perfectly and repeat the weekly process for at least one month to make sure that the adult fleas, eggs and larvae are destroyed. For a more detailed discussion, you can also consult our previous article on Other Uses of DE Recommended Diatomaceae Landmarks These are our recommended DE brands that garnered good customer reviews:1. 2. What you should know before using DE While the degree of DE food is safe for kittens, always use it with extreme caution because it can act as an irritant to you and your pet's skin, mouth, eyes and lungs. If mishandled, DE could result in side effects such as skin, nose, and eye irritation, cough, shortness of breath and potentially lead to silicosis, a chronic inflammatory disease of the lungs. Take appropriate precautions and consult your veterinarian about proper use and dosage. You should also store DE in a dry container or bag, clean and sealed to last a lot. Concluding Thoughts The diatomaceous or DE soil is a safe choice for the control of fleas and the internal elimination of the parasite. It is generally safe for kittens while using the type of food grade that is labeled as GRAS or generally recognized as insurance by the United States Food and Drug Administration. However, always handle the product with caution and consult your veterinarian about the proper use and dose to ensure the well-being of your kittens. Is the diatomaceous land safe for cats or not? Is the diatomaceous land safe for cats or not? I'm seeing a lot of different answers about this. We're trying to kill the fleas in our house since medicine just seems to kill some of the fleas. I'm reading on the diatomaceous soil used for fleas. Is it safe to use or not? I see people saying it will cause lung damage if it is inhaled. Will we be able to lock our cats in the basement for a half hour or for a long time to take until it calms down, or will it still be harmful? My understanding is that the degree of food marked by the DE is safe. With the grotto that ANY powdered substance can cause lung problems if inhaled in sufficient quantities. We have a dozen animals right now and we have DE around the inner perimeter to deal with ants. Since it's not in the air, none of our animals have had a problem. As long as it's marked 'food grade', it's safe. I even use it with my snakes... spread some outside their enclosures so that insects can't enter. Just don't let it get wet, or it'll be useless, and keep in mind that like any powdery substance, it acts as an irritant when inhaled. We had a huge flea infestation (right when we had a newborn so it took us a few weeks to realize) and DE was only marginally useful. Get a good fleas medicine from the veterinarian to treat your animals. You can also set up traps - lights hanging under white plates with a drop of soap and water in them. The fleas are attracted to the white to jump over the plate and down. Finally, vacuum ALL at least twice a day. We have hard wood, so we use a shop vac. Get the diatomaceous soil of a dietary degree and make sure your cats don't inhale it or don't inhale too much of it. We have used it (food grade) around our cats, in their cat tree and such, without problems. It gets everywhere, of course, but they're fine. I've even dusted the dogs with him and without any problems, and they crawl dust everywhere they go for a day or two. Use nitenpyram, give it to all cats for a cycle of fleas, clean them all. It is very safe, even with the monthly flea medicines that no longer work so well. Getting rid of the fleas takes a minimum of 3 months because they are lair parasites and do not live in the animal, but in the environment. The fleas jump over the animal to get their blood food, and then return to the environment to reproduce and multiply. Killing fleas in animals will do nothing for environmental infestation. Don't give your cats any products unless your veterinarian recommends it. You can do much more harm than good.
